NOTES ON THE ARTWORK
Bill submitted by Isaac Kistell for the supply of various goods and services for the Public Election of Master and Wardens of Worshipful Company of Drapers on 4th August 1715, countersigned for payment by Grinling Gibbons as one of the three Wardens responsible for managing the Company’s accounts and financial matters. The bill includes sacks of old coal, 2 barrels of beer, tobacco and pipes, candles, six waiters and ‘scowering women’ (cleaners).
